Welcome to St Winifred’s RC Primary School

A message from the Headteacher

On behalf of the governors, staff and pupils of St Winifred’s RC Primary School, I would like to warmly welcome you to our school website.

I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of the St Winifred's school family which is made up of wonderful children and dedicated and supportive staff, governors and parents. As a former pupil of the school, I know what a truly special community this is. We are fully committed to the partnership of home, school and parish and, through all parties working together, our children will be sure of success. Through this joint commitment, we welcome new members to our school to grow and work in the love of Christ as we live out our mission of ‘Caritas’ or ‘God’s Love in Action’.

As a Catholic school, Christ is at the centre of all we do.  We want every child to achieve so we work hard to provide a curriculum which helps all children to shine.

At St Winifred's, we ensure that our children are encouraged, nurtured, motivated and guided, so that they develop their natural gifts and talents whilst becoming confident, ambitious and independent learners who know how to make informed decisions about the choices they make in life.

We believe that children learn best whilst having fun and being actively engaged in a curriculum that is relevant to their everyday lives. At St Winifred’s. we teach a child-centred, creative curriculum which places Christ at the centre. Spiritual, moral, social and cultural education permeate our whole curriculum. We encourage children to share our high expectations of themselves and what they can achieve. Our ambition for all children is for them to be happy, confident, caring, knowledgeable and resilient individuals, who will grow up to be inspirational adults with a wealth to contribute to our ever-changing world.

If you would like your child to join our school family, we would be extremely happy to welcome you. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment and I will happily show you first-hand how our mission is lived by all.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Alicia Duffy
