Our SEND Coffee mornings are a chance for you to meet and speak in an informal setting with other parents about your child's difficulties and presenting behaviours, especially those seen outside of school.  The discussions that are usually held are around presenting behaviours linked to ADHD, Anxiety, Autism and sensory needs.

 

We hold termly, please get in touch with sendco@st-winifreds.stockport.sch.uk for information on the upcoming dates.

Life Leisure - SEND Sessions

 

Please see below some information about SEND sessions, Life Leisure Centres are currently offering and the contact information for the Leisure Centres Inclusion officer.

SEND Stay & Play

 

Our SEND stay and play session at Life Leisure Houldsworth Village is a fun evening with a wide range of activities including, sports, board games, sensory toys, arts & crafts and more. Our aim is to provide an evening of activities to those with additional needs who require an adapted environment, with experienced staff. Our sports hall has different stations set up to engage children at their own pace. We have trained staff from different departments delivering a range of low demand, easily accessible games and tasks.

 

Times:

Mondays 5.00pm – 6:15pm & 6:30pm – 7:45pm

It is currently FREE for just 2 more weeks and then it will be charged at £3.50 per session.

SEND Inflatable Swim

The SEND Inflatable Swim sessions will continue at Life Leisure Romiley, monthly throughout 2024.

SEND Family Swim/Disability Inclusive Swim

Our SEND family swim sessions are currently held at Life Leisure Avondale and are suitable for families with children with special education needs or disabilities. The capacities of these sessions are reduced for a less crowded experience.

Times:

SEND Family Swim - Wednesdays 3.50pm – 5.20pm

Disability Inclusive Swim – Mondays 7:10pm – 8:10pm & Wednesdays 7:45pm – 8:45pm (Cheadle)

Sessions in development

Here are some sessions we are working to bring you in 2024

Inclusive Gym use - Adapted gym environment during one of the quieter times at the weekend. A guided fitness program for 16+ to encourage independence in the gym.

Adaptive Bike sessions - We have just been equipped with 10 adapted bicycles from Wheels For All to run inclusive cycling session coming soon to our Brinnington centre.
