Welcome to St Winifred’s RC Primary School

Dear Parents,

Open Days: Friday 12th November 2021 and Monday 15th November 2021.

On these days, we  will be happy to welcome you to visit the school in one of our  two set time slots of 9.15AM and 10.45AM. For health and safety reasons, places will be limited and will need to be booked in advance.  Please telephone the school office on 0161 432 5782 to book a place.

A ‘Prospective Parent’ video  is also located within the ‘Parents’ section of this website on the ‘Reception Intake  2022’ tab, which was used during the pandemic when we were unable to welcome you into school. This may also provide you with a flavour of St Winifred’s.

A message from the Headteacher

On behalf of the governors, staff and pupils of St Winifred’s RC Primary School, I would like to warmly welcome you to our school website.

I am proud to be the Headteacher of a thriving, learning community with wonderful children and dedicated and supportive staff, governors and parents.

We are committed to the partnership of home, school and parish and, through all parties working together, our children will be sure of success. Through this joint commitment, we welcome new members to our school to grow and work in the love of Christ as we live out our mission  of ‘Caritas’ or ‘God’s Love in Action’.

At St Winifred’s we take a holistic approach to education which focuses on developing the whole child, with Christ at the centre of all we do. We ensure that our children are encouraged, motivated and guided, so that they develop their natural gifts and talents whilst becoming confident, ambitious and independent learners who know how to make informed decisions about the choices they make in life.

We believe that children learn best whilst having fun, as well as being actively engaged in a curriculum that is relevant to their everyday lives. Therefore, at St. Winfred’s we teach a child centred, creative curriculum with Christ’s teachings at its centre. Spiritual, moral, social and cultural education also permeate our whole curriculum. Furthermore, we encourage children at all times to share our high expectations of themselves and what they can achieve.

If you would like your child to join our school to grow and learn in the love of Christ,  we are happy to welcome you on our open days as listed above so that you can see first-hand how our mission is lived by all.

We look forward to welcoming you.
